When most people dial a wrong number, it usually results in a quick apology and a hangup – but not for Irene Wilkinson.
Several months ago, Irene accidentally dialed a “7” instead of an “8” for a phone number’s area code; it was a simple mistake that had a wonderful outcome.
The 102-year-old woman unintentionally called a woman in Tennessee named Rosa. Instead of hanging up, the two women talked on the phone for an hour and a half.
“She sounded like a nice lady, so we talked about our lives and children like old people do,” Wilkinson told KTVI.
The friendship didn’t stop there, either – the two women started calling each other constantly. For months, they would spend hours talking to each other on the phone.
